■Target Selection
Each skill selects its target(s) in 1 of 4 ways:
"Random," "Stat Hierarchy," "Directly in Front," and "Adjacent."
■Random
Targets are selected at random.
Placement in the party formation also affects the selection,
as there is a higher probability a character will target the enemy
directly in front of them, and a lower probability to target
an enemy that is further away from that position.
If a skill prioritizes selecting a target that fulfills a certain condition,
such as skills that say, "This attack prioritizes attacking enemies
who are enhanced with [Multi-Barrier]," a target is selected at random
out of the enemies who fulfill that condition.
If there are no targets the skill can prioritize selecting
because no enemies fulfill the condition,
a target will be selected completely at random.
■Stat Hierarchy
Targets are selected based on the hierarchy of a specific stat,
such as "the enemy with the highest ATK" or
"the 3 enemies with the lowest remaining HP percentages."
For "the enemy with the highest ATK," the target becomes the enemy
with the highest ATK among all remaining enemies.
For "the 3 enemies with the lowest remaining HP percentages,"
the targets become the 3 enemies with the lowest remaining HP percentages
among all remaining enemies.
If there are multiple characters that meet the same condition,
the target will be selected based on their position in the party formation,
prioritizing the character placed in the higher slot.
If a single skill deals multiple attacks,
the stat hierarchy will be referenced with each individual attack.
When it comes to referenced stats,
if a skill activates "at the start of the battle" and "at the start of the 1st turn,"
pre-increased/decreased stats will be referenced.
For other skills, each time a target selection based on a stat is made,
the in-battle stat will be referenced.
*For details on pre-increased/decreased stats, in-battle stats, etc.,
please check the "Scopes of Referenced Stats" section.
■Directly in Front
The target selected is the enemy located in the same party formation slot
as the character using the skill.
If the enemy located directly in front of a character has already been defeated,
the target will be selected from the remaining enemies at random.
If all enemies targeted by a skill
that targets multiple enemies have already been defeated,
including the enemy located directly in front of a character,
the target will be selected from the remaining enemies at random.
■Adjacent
The target will be selected from 1 specific character
and the characters located on either side of them in a party formation.
If there are no characters located on either side of the specific character,
1 character in the party will be forcibly selected at random as a target.
■Selection Priority
If buffs, debuffs, etc., cause target selection conditions
to overlap with each other,
the decision of which target will be selected will be made
based on the following conditions (in order of priority).
If a character is afflicted with Confusion
▼
If a character uses a skill dealt to the enemy directly in front of them,
and 1 or more enemies adjacent to that target
▼
If a character is enhanced with Stealth
▼
If a character uses a skill that selects a target based on stat hierarchy
▼
If a character is enhanced with Taunt
▼
If a character uses a skill that is dealt to enemies at random,
or enemies who are selected at random out of the possible targets
prioritized for fulfilling a certain condition
Characters who are enhanced with Invisibility, or are defeated,
cannot be selected as targets.
