Damage cutting reduces a designated amount of damage from attacks, Resonance, Devotion, and counterattack damage.
Out of the above, calculations for counterattack damage dealt to Shields is prioritized before calculations for damage cutting are made.
Due to this, Counter is highly effective against Shields, and makes it easier to deplete enemy Shields than other types of damage.
Any remaining damage dealt that exceeds the size of a character’s Shield will then be subject to damage cutting.
- Types of damage for which the effect of Shield activates before damage taken is reduced by damage cutting
- Counterattack damage
- Types of damage for which the effect of Shield activates after damage taken is reduced by damage cutting
